North Riding FA is excited to announce that applications are now open to become a part of our Coach Mentor Programme.

The programme has been designed to support coaches within your club gain valuable experience and confidence, which in turn can be used to support other coaches at your club.

The deadline for applications to be a part of our new cohort of clubs/coaches is Wednesday 3 January 2024.

Our Coach Mentor Programme consists of a mixture of online sessions, self-learning, applied practices within a club setting, and on-site face-to-face workshops. The ethos behind the Mentor Programme is to develop excellent coach mentors, who will have the skills to deliver one-on-one mentor sessions, full in-house coaching workshops, and be able to create a coaching philosophy which develops more skilful players within grassroots clubs.

The programme is being led by John Ackerley, The FA’s Mentor Developer, on behalf of North Riding FA. John has over 25 years of expertise in the fields of education, coaching, mentoring, sport, and business. Alongside his role with The FA, John has held positions with both UEFA and FIFA.

Sessions will be held on:

• 15 January
• 12 February
• 18 March
• 22 April
• 13 May
