York's Pete Gibson sadly passed away at the weekend after a brave battle with cancer.
Pete had given well over 50 years’ service to grassroots football. He had been a player and Club Secretary at British Sugar (York), but will be widely remembered as York Minster League Secretary and York District FA Secretary.
Pete had three stints as League Secretary, and in between held the post of District FA Secretary, but returned to the League each time he got the call and if the truth was known he much preferred his involvement week in, week out with league football.
Pete, as a senior figure in York football, will be missed by many.
The thoughts of all at North Riding FA are with his family and friends.
