A Three-Hour Futsal Match at St Peter's School

Bootham Girls’ & Ladies’ Futsal Club – York are taking part to raise money for a defibrillator.

Bootham Girls’ & Ladies’ Futsal Club – York, the first FA Charter Standard Futsal Club in the north of England, are raising money to purchase a defibrillator by playing a three-hour non-stop futsal match at St Peter’s School on Sunday 28 November.

After the scenes at this summers’ European Football Championships and the terrible events involving the cardiac arrest of the footballer Christian Eriksen, Club Chairman Mr Chris Collins made it his season’s priority to get the club its own defibrillator.

The clubs have just started their fifth season, with just under 100 females from U8s to open age having represented the club since its first session. Bootham have four times been to the final stages of the Futsal National Finals, but the main purpose of the club is to keep females active in sport for as long as possible.

Each player has been asked to raise money through sponsorship towards the target and North Riding FA would like to wish everyone the best of luck.
