North Riding County FA’s Referee Development Department will be hosting a couple of ‘Trainee Referee Support Workshops’ over the next few weeks to offer additional support and preparation ahead of the new season.
Our Referee Development Team fully appreciate the challenges and frustrations of the Covid-19 pandemic, and that many of our new trainee referees did not have the opportunity to referee a game or referee very few games since attending their FA Referee Course at the start of the year, and may require some further support and key messages.
The remote workshops (Zoom) will give an update on the following key areas:
• Referee Mentoring Programme / Support Available
• FA Referee Course Recap & Requirements
• Laws of the Game Key Changes – 2020/21
• Fixtures & local league contacts
• Whole Game System (WGS) including Disciplinary reporting
• Q&A (including any parent / guardian questions)
We would highly recommend our Trainee Referees attending one of the two remote workshops which will take place as follows:
• Wednesday 16 September 2020: 18:00 – 19:30
• Monday 21 September 2020: 18:00 – 19:30
In order to attend one of the remote workshops, please complete the below form confirming which workshop you would like to attend:
The link to access the Zoom workshop will be sent no later than the morning of the workshop to the email address that you register with in the above registration form. Parents / guardians are welcome and encouraged to listen in on the workshops and participate.
Finally, for those Trainee Referees who have already completed their five trainee fixtures and would like to be ‘signed off’ as a fully qualified referee, we’re delighted to confirm that we have arranged a Unit 6 Workshop to be also delivered via Zoom on Thursday 24 September 2020 @ 18:00 – 19:30. Further information on this will follow shortly.
