Generation Football Launch Event

North Riding FA was delighted to officially launch the Generation Football Young Leadership Programme across the county last week

Taking place at North Riding FA HQ on Saturday 18 January, the launch event allowed those taking part in the scheme to meet the NRCFA Youth Council, as well as their designated mentor for the duration of the programme.

Gen ZParticipants were also taught about leadership qualities with help from The FA’s Sarah Nickless through the design of their own games, highlighting their creativity and leadership skills even further.

Jasmine Morris, Football Development Officer at North Riding FA, said: “It was brilliant to launch the Generation Football programme across the county and we were delighted to receive such a strong response.

“Young people are key to grassroots football and the future of the sport throughout North Riding. To be able to develop their leadership skills through this programme will not only enhance the game but also all of the young leaders’ future prospects as well.”

The Generation Football Programme was launched across North Riding for the 2019/20 season with the intention of getting more young people between the ages of 14 and 25 involved with their local football club, perhaps launching a future career within the game.

Following the launch, the young leaders on the programme will now be monitoring their hours to achieve rewards for their time and commitment.
