North Riding FA Visit Middlesbrough Powerchair FC Training Session
MIDDLESBROUGH POWERCHAIR FC RECEIVE A VISIT FROM NORTH RIDING FA
North Riding FA’s Football Development Officer, Jasmine Morris, attended Middlesbrough Powerchair FC’s training session last week to get a close-up view of the club’s talented Powerchair players – and here’s what she had to say…
“It was great to visit Middlesbrough Powerchair FC at their training session last week.
We went down to their Endeavour, Discovery and Reserves session where they were working on their long passing, drive on and reverse spin hits.
It was great to see how welcoming the club is and how they endeavour to get the best out of every individual who attends.
The smiles on all of the players’ faces were great to see - so keep up the fantastic work!”
Powerchair football is a unique sport that provides opportunities for people with a high level of impairment to access the game of football. It is the only active team participation sport for people who use electric wheelchairs.
The game is for anyone who uses a powered wheelchair or those who have limited movement in a manual wheelchair. The sport is fast-paced, dynamic and very enjoyable to watch, whilst the unique nature of powerchair football allows all ages, disabilities and both genders to compete together.
