Seven Heroes of the Grassroots Game Presented with FA Awards

Over recent weeks, North Riding County FA has had the pleasure of presenting awards to its local 2018 FA and McDonald’s Grassroots Football Award winners.

The Grassroots Football Awards recognise and celebrate the work of individuals and groups to instill The FA’s PRIDE values – Progressive, Respectful, Inclusive, Determined and Excellent – whilst making a positive difference in their club, league or local community.

After receiving over 2900 nominations, The FA worked alongside respective County FAs to select winners from local areas, with North Riding FA’s winners confirmed as follows:

RESPECT AWARD: ROBBIE HAWKES

COACH OF THE YEAR: KAT RICHARDSON

COMMUNITY PROJECT OF THE YEAR: SAM BELL – SOUTH PARK RANGERS

CHARTER STANDARD LEAGUE OF THE YEAR: THE YMSV YORK MINOR LEAGUE

CHARTER STANDARD CLUB OF THE YEAR: WIGGINTON GRASSHOPPERS JUNIORS

GROUNDS TEAM OF THE YEAR: JIM FERGUSON – POPPLETON JUNIORS

VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR: GRAHAM TODD – REDCAR TOWN FC
