The FA will be hosting the fourth FA Youth Leagues Conference at St George's Park on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 December 2018.
John Folwell, The FA’s National Participation Manager for Youth Football, has issued the following message:
Our approach to the conference this year is slightly different. This is your conference and so it is important to us that it feels like a partnership. We aim to have more volunteers from Youth Leagues presenting and facilitating. We also want to engage more young people and the FA Youth Council, who have been helping the planning, will also be involved with the running of the conference too.
We hope to model the Youth/Adult partnership approach that we see as being essential in developing our workforce. As in previous years, there will be a mix of stimulating workshops and plenary sessions but with a more relaxed and informal feel. The aim is to create an environment where we can have some positive conversations about important subjects. We have retained the gala dinner, the tour of St George's Park and of course plenty of opportunity to network with colleagues from across the country.
The theme of this year is again ‘Play Your Part’, with a focus on the following subjects:
• Player Registration through the Whole Game System
• Respect Campaign - the role of Youth Leagues in the future roll-out of the programme
• Youth/Adult partnerships – developing your League workforce
• Youth Leagues role in doubling participation in the girls' game
• The growing importance of Futsal
• SCORY – How could it look in the future
The cost of attendance will remain at £99 per delegate, which is inclusive of all meals and accommodation over the period of the conference. Leagues may send two delegates each, and whilst we would expect to see many Secretaries and Chairmen in attendance, it would be good to see Welfare Officers, Registrations Secretaries and Club reps too.
We would ask you to visit https://youthleagues2018.firstmedia.co.uk/ to register your interest in attending.
We will then email specific invitations to leagues with a link to payment and confirmation.
The deadline for registration has been extended to Friday 9 November 2018.
