Tributes offered for Martin Reagan
Reagan, from Kirk Hammerton, passed away on Boxing Day aged 92. His coaching work for England spanned 25 years, 11 or them in charge of the England women's national team. He also played professionally for several clubs including Middlesbrough and York City and he also pulled on the boots for York Railway Institute.
It was during this time Reagan gave Hope Powell her international debut against the Republic of Ireland in 1983. Powell went on to emulate Reagan by becoming the national team manager and talking to The Press, said, "Martin was a real gentleman and a lovely human being".
Martin Reagan
"He was well regarded and well respected by the players. As a coach, he was far more knowledegable than most of us in the squad had experienced before".
North Riding County FA would like to offer our condolences to Martin Reagan's family and friends.
