Female Only Referee Course Available At Discounted Price

North Riding FA is thrilled to be hosting a female-only FA Referee Course, giving women the chance to forge a career within refereeing.

The County FA is aiming to double the number of our female referee workforce, and by running this course at a discounted price of just £99, it is hoped more women kick off their refereeing education this summer.

Learners will be provided with the best advice and knowledge from some of the leading figures in women’s refereeing such as FA Tutor, Lucy Oliver, and North Riding County FA Female Referee Ambassador and FIFA Referee, Rebecca Welch.

Attendees will be introduced to The Laws of Association Football through a combination of theory and practical elements over six individual units. Learners will also be expected to referee five matches but details of that aspect will be provided on the course.

Aspects of the game such as effective communication, positioning, dealing with injuries and substitutions and managing players, amongst others, will be explored.

The schedule for the delivery of those units are as follows:

Wednesday, 18th September, 2019: Module 1 Introduction Workshop: 6.00pm - 9.00pm

Wednesday, 25th September, 2019: Safeguarding Children & FA DBS Workshop: 6.00pm - 9.00pm

Saturday, 5th October, 2019: FA Referee Course Practical Day: 9.00am - 5.00pm

TBC: Examination and Next Step Workshop

In addition to the valuable knowledge gained throughout the course, learners will also be provided with referee accessories (red and yellow cards, notebook, whistle), The Laws of The Game 2019/20, an FA Referee Course Handbook, as well as free FA registration for 2019/20. Access to an FA Referee Mentor and FA qualified referee tutors is also available.

Learners who are over the age of 16 will need to complete an FA Criminal Records Check, which is included in the cost of the course. All attendees are also required to have completed the FA Safeguarding Children course which is again included in the cost of the course.
