Football is the No.1 team sport for females in England with more than 260,000 women and over 1.1 million girls playing the game.....and that number is growing!

With over 68 female youth teams and plenty of womens' teams, there are plenty of opportunities for females to play, coach or volunteer within the North Riding area.

North Riding County FA's development team is here to help you with matters relating to leagues, team development, female coach education bursaries, school club link projects, taster sessions and club meetings - all to ensure that the development of girls and women’s football continues within the county.

So if you’re a beginner at primary school, a teenager who has never played before or a twenty-something who wants to get back involved after not kicking a ball for a few years, there's an opportunity for you!

NRCFA currently offers the chance for all young female players to play football in either the City of York Girls Football League or the North Riding & Tees Valley Girls League. For adult women, there is the North Riding Women's League

We also have teams competing at the higher levels of the youth female game, having secured two licenses for Girls Centre of Excellence - the North Yorkshire Girls Centre of Excellence and the Teesside Sport Girls Centre of Excellence
