Shape the play

Vacancy: Game Changer (Women and Girls Delivery Lead)

The closing date for applications is Friday 4 February 2022

Active Through Football: ‘Shape the Play’

Active Through Football is an opportunity to do things differently. By identifying and working with key target audiences, who face some of the greatest inequalities to being physically active, we want to increase activity levels and create sustained behaviour change using a 'Place-based approach.'

Funded by the Football Foundation and Sport England and led by the North Riding County FA, the project is based around the Heart of the Community Model. This innovative approach is about bringing voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations in Stockton and Thornaby together to ensure that local people can access the activity that they need to thrive; where they can feel safe in their communities and where they can transform community spaces into real hubs of activity.

Our Game Changer: We are looking for someone who is passionate about physical activity, has good communication skills and wants to make a positive difference to the lives of other people. As a Game-Changer, you will work with VCSE organisations to take participants on a positive journey from inactive to active and in doing so build trust, motivation, and positive behaviour change.

Along with delivering physical activity and sport sessions, you will help recruit coaches and volunteers and provide them with the appropriate training and support, so they are able to develop and deliver vibrant local programmes.

So, if you have high professional standards, want to make a positive difference and have or are prepared to work towards a sports coaching qualification, we would love to hear from you.
