A new youth leadership programme is being launched by North Riding FA to encourage more young people to volunteer with local grassroots football clubs.
Titled Generation Football, the initiative is targeting people aged between 14-25 who want to become more involved with their local club and take their first steps into a career in football.
Each young leader within the programme will be designated a mentor from the North Riding FA Youth Council who will volunteer their time to provide support and guidance to the young leaders.
The young leaders will volunteer within their home clubs but also receive two face-to-face meet ups with their designated mentor, before graduating from the programme at the end of the season.
Furthermore, the young leaders will be tasked with monitoring their hours to achieve rewards for their time and commitment. Rewards include a t-shirt at the North Riding FA launch event on 30 November and then milestones leading up to 100 hours.
Generation Football supports our Youth Voice initiative, ensuring all young people around the county can make their voices heard and have a say in shaping the game moving forward.
