North Riding FA is delighted to confirm that it will once again be sending a number of match officials overseas this year to represent the Association and experience refereeing in a different country.

PARIS CUP 2019

Vladimir Mollov, Tommy Brown and Macauley Gibson will travel across to Paris, France to officiate in the Paris Cup in July under the leadership of Referee Coach, Andy Himsworth.

This will be an eight-night trip and provide the lads with an excellent opportunity to test their refereeing skills with teams from around the world.

DALLAS CUP 2019

Conor Ledgeway will jet off across the pond to Dallas, USA in April this year to officiate in the world famous DR Pepper Dallas Cup. This will be a 12-night trip and give Conor the opportunity to officiate some of the world’s best youth professional teams, whilst also working with PGMOL and FIFA officials.

Ross Joyce, Referee Development Manager at North Riding FA, said: “I am extremely proud that - as a County FA - we will have provided 26 match officials the opportunity to travel overseas and experience an international tournament since September 2011.

“We have sent match officials to Lisbon, Paris, Dallas and Denmark in recent years - ensuring that we can provide them not only with the opportunity to experience some quality football with different challenges, which includes a language and cultural change, but also to develop their social and everyday life skills as young people, which is priceless.

“We see the huge benefits of the international trips and many of our previous attendees have now moved into the semi-professional game. I would like to thank the Board of Directors here at North Riding FA for their continued support and my team of CORE coaches, who are fundamental to opportunities like these going ahead each year.

“I sent my best wishes to Conor, Macauley, Tommy and Vladimir on their well-deserved selections.”
