There was a Challenge Cup Final thriller at County FA HQ on Wednesday evening (10 April), as Itis Itis Rovers edged past Thirsk Falcons on penalties, winning 7-6 from the spot after a 90 minutes which ended two goals apiece.
In case the dramatic, four-goal encounter in normal time wasn’t enough, this tense final kept on giving and went all the way to spot-kicks.
After 13 successful penalties, ‘keeper Jordan Lee made the decisive save to spark jubilant celebrations among the Rovers players and staff.
Congratulations to Rovers on the win and to Thirsk Falcons for playing their part in what was a superb advert for county football.
