The North Riding Football League Representative Team will be attending the Gazette Sports Award presentation dinner at Jurys Inn tonight (18 October), after being shortlisted for the ‘Team of the Year’ accolade.

Following the team’s success in the FA Inter League Cup and subsequent participation at the UEFA Regions Cup in Romania, the side has been shortlisted for a prize at the 2018 Awards Ceremony.

Earlier this year, the players and staff travelled to Romania to spend 10 days under the guidance of The FA and compete against Slovakia, Romania and Ireland.

They managed to remain unbeaten and finished the trip having fought out three impressive draws against extremely strong opposition.

For a group of local North Riding Football League footballers to achieve what they did is truly amazing – and to represent their country at this level is an unbelievable achievement.

Day to day, they work as personal assistants, greenkeepers, teachers, office workers, engineers. But, together they make an outstanding football team.

North Riding FA would like to congratulate the team again on their outstanding achievements and wish them the best of luck at tonight’s ceremony.
