The Inspire Talent in Teesside event with Middlesbrough Ladies took place yesterday, Sunday 28th of January at Thornaby FC and was a huge success both on and off the pitch.

All of the girls who attended had a great day with activities taking place such as poster making, face painting and guess the score. The girls then all got the chance to watch Middlesbrough Ladies take on Wolves in the Womens FA Premier League which saw Boro run out a comfortable 7v1 win. With over 80 girls attending the Inspire Teesside in Talent event it’s fair to say that it was a huge victory.

Football Development Officer Donna Crowthers who attended the event gave a glowing report, ‘It’s fantastic to see local teams like Middlesbrough Women inspire the next generation of female footballer in the area. Events like these show the young footballers a clear pathway into Ladies Football’.

Club Secretary Lindsey had the following to say regarding the event. 'Our Inspiring female football campaign was a huge success with around 80 girls attending. It’s important for Middlesbrough Women to try inspire girls of all abilities to achieve what ever they may want to achieve and by us opening our doors and allowing girls to come and see what its like to be a Premier League player will hopefully inspire girls to push themselves to become footballer when their older.

Its also important to allow girls to come experience a game and by making our game day more fun and exciting we will hopefully see a larger number of girls aged between 6-15 attend our home matches.'
