The FA Regional Talent Club is a quality-assured programme that provides player development opportunities for elite female players at Under 10, Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16. The programme forms an integral part of the England Women’s Elite Talent Pathway and in May 2016, the club were awarded a Tier 1 Licence by the FA, 1 of only 13 clubs to achieve this status.
The technical programme is led by UEFA “A” Licence coach Adie Costello who oversees an extremely talented and experienced UEFA B and Level 2 coaching team. The Sports Science and Medical team led by Dale Forsdyke, Senior Lecture in Sports Injury Management at York St. John University and Dr. Adam Gledhill, Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Leeds Beckett University includes experienced physiotherapists, performance coaches, performance analysts and nutritionists.
York City FC Foundation Regional Talent Club has already seen notable success this season, with 6 players achieving international selection at England National or Regional Training Camps, underlining the club ethos of Fulfilling Female Potential. Former players on reaching the age of 16 have been successful in joining FA WSL clubs Manchester City, Doncaster Rovers Belles and Durham Women’s development teams.
Trials for all age groups will be held at our training facilities at York St. John University on Saturday 10th, 17th and 24th June - U10 and U12 10am to 12 noon, U14 and U16 1:30 to 3:30pm.
The FA RTC eligible cut off dates for each age group are aligned with school years.
- U10 – Players born between 1st September 2007 and 31st August 2009
- U12 – Players born between 1st September 2005 and 31st August 2007
- U14 – Players born between 1st September 2003 and 31st August 2005
- U16 – Players born between 1st September 2001 and 31st August 2003
All players must also meet the following criteria:
Player’s home postcode must be within 1 hour 30 minutes travel time of our RTC base Post Code of YO23 2BB.
Players must have an English parent or an English grandparent or must have been educated in England for at least five consecutive years.
