FA Girls Football Festival Comes To North Riding

North Riding FA is delighted to host The FA's highly successful Girls’ Football Festival in association with Continental Tyres to Middlesbrough...

The free programme, aimed at encouraging girls to participate in football, is open to young girls from primary and secondary schools, within Middlesbrough and surrounding area. Schools are invited to contact North Riding FA's Donna Crowthers to register.

Participants will have the chance to play with some of the stars of women’s football, as players from The FA Women's Super League will be there to meet, chat and have a kick-about with the girls.

In addition, Charlotte Lade, one of the world’s leading professional football freestylers, will be demonstrating her amazing football tricks and skills.

In 2016, The FA Girls’ Football Festivals in association with Continental Tyres has gone from strength to strength, attracting over 8,000 girls across 17 events.

Now a much anticipated fixture in the annual calendar for the women’s and girls' game, the 2017 Festivals will once again visit over 17 locations around the country between June and November.

The programme is a joint initiative by The FA and Continental Tyres. It provides girls aged 5 to 16 with an exciting, interactive football experience for both those new to the game and regular players.

The format of The FA Girls’ Festival is fun and interactive, combining football, lifestyle and music. Each festival is led by FA approved coaches and will include sessions from the FA Skills team and Football Mash Up as well, and includes skills and drills, interactive games, mini matches and the ContiWarmUp Programme - the newest endorsed coaching programme by The FA.

A range of innovative equipment including inflatable pitch, speed cage, target shoot, quick feet and batak boards will feature at each event.

To add to the festival atmosphere, there will be giveaways, as well as hair braiding and face painting. The FA WSL mascot Berry the Bear will also be in attendance.

To ensure the day on June 6th is a huge success the North Riding County FA are looking to employee a number of Level 1 coaches to help the day run as smoothly as possible.

There is also a number of volunteer opportunities to get involved in, and should you be interested in helping out on the day, please email our Football Development Officer, Donna Crowthers on donna.crowthers@northridingfa.com or by calling 01642 717770.
