Since it began in 2007, the FA Skills Programme has provided playing opportunities for over 6 million children throughout England.
The FA Skills Programme is based on the FA coaching model (Long Term Player Development) that looks to develop the players technically, physically, psychologically and socially.
Furthermore, The FA Skills Programme looks to bring to life The FA’s vision for players, as highlighted in The FA Future Game document: "To produce technically excellent and innovative players, with exceptional decision making skills."

The FA Skills Coaches look to achieve this by creating positive learning environments in which players are comfortable to play with freedom and expression, whilst also delivering practices that are challenging and realistic to the game.
A major part of the FA Skills Programme provision is working with Charter Standard Clubs to offer, not only, high quality football coaching opportunities for young players, but also support to those coaches working with the players.
This typically takes the form of a FA Skills Coach working with a team and their coach for 6-12 weeks, and is completely FREE of charge.
The FA Skills Coach's aim to a positive impact with the players whilst they are working with them and, through the support and ideas offered to the coach, a more long lasting impact when they leave.
There are currently over 150 FA Skills Coaches working throughout England. Locally, there are 4 FA Skills Coaches working in partnership with North Riding FA, details as below:Andy Cook - Redcar - 07908 180129 - firstname.lastname@example.org
