Insurance - A Guide for Clubs

All teams affiliated to the North Riding County FA require both Public Liability Insurance and Personal Accident Insurance.

Public Liability Insurance

Please note that Public Liability Insurance is to cover any claim made against your club by a third party. It does not cover the general public in clubhouses and bars.

If your Club’s Public Liability Insurance is arranged through this Association and in the event that contact is made by or correspondence is received from a third party/solicitor, you should inform the County office immediately for guidance on how to proceed. Please do not respond direct to any such contact or correspondence

Personal Accident Insurance (ADULT TEAMS)

Following on from the Association’s introduction of mandatory Personal Accident Insurance for ALL Adult teams, I would confirm that the Football Association has now also made this a mandatory requirement through the FA’s Standard Code of Rules for Leagues. North Riding County FA’s recommended Insurer continues to be SPORTSGUARD INSURANCE, to view the premiums available to North Riding Clubs please see the documents below.  If using the CFA recommended supplier this is to be done at time of Affiliation and paid to NRCFA.  We will then inform Sportsguard who will send out your Policy documents.

As with Public Liability Insurance, the Association must give Clubs the opportunity to arrange their own like for like Personal Accident Insurance, BUT a copy of their insurance Policy MUST be sent in to the office, or uploaded in WGS during the affiliation process, as proof that they have adequate Insurance. A copy of the renewal certificate must also be forwarded if this occurs during the season.

The Association believes that the level of premium charged by Sportsguard for Personal Accident Insurance remains substantially lower than that which would apply to an individual club arranging its own policy.

Personal Accident Insurance must be taken out no later than 1st July.
Please note that failure to pay for Personal Accident Insurance by 1st July will result in a club being suspended from all football activity until such time as full settlement is actually received.

A special pro rata policy has been negotiated with Sportsguard Insurance for Veterans and Futsal teams. Please contact the office for further details.

Personal Accident Insurance (YOUTH TEAMS)

Youth teams will continue to have the Personal Accident Insurance cover included within their affiliation fee.
