All teams affiliated to the North Riding County FA require both Public Liability Insurance and Personal Accident Insurance.

Public Liability Insurance

At present, all clubs affiliated to North Riding County FA are provided, as part of the affiliation process, with Public Liability Insurance.

The Certificate of Insurance and Compulsory Benefits for all clubs can be found in the County Handbook (2011-2012) page 202, or can be downloaded by clicking on the Verification of Civil Liability document below..

Although we would recommend that the policy wording is read in full, we can summarise the significant features and benefits as follows:

Public Liability: £10,000,000, Professional Indemnity: £5,000,000 including Libel, Slander, Error & Omissions, Products & Abuse, Directors & Officers: £5,000,000.

Please note, Public Liability Insurance is to cover any claim made against your club by a third party. It does not cover the general public in clubhouses and bars.

In the event that contact is made by a third party/solicitor, you should inform the County office immediately for guidance on how to proceed.

Personal Accident Insurance (ADULT TEAMS)

Personal Accident Insurance MUST be taken out for ALL adult teams and is a mandatory requirement for affiliating your club. North Riding County FA’s recommended Insurer is SPORTSGUARD INSURANCE.

Clubs can arrange their own Personal Accident Insurance, but a copy of their insurance Policy MUST be sent in with the affiliation form as proof that they have adequate cover. A copy of the renewal notice must also be forwarded if this occurs during the season.

If you wish to take out the Sportsguard Insurance please send the completed form back to us at the same time as your affiliation form with a £10 deposit for EACH ADULT TEAM. This can be downloaded by clicking on the North Riding 2012-13 Adult Insurance Form in the documents below.

Sportsguard Insurance will then send out an invoice to the club and you will have to pay the balance due direct to Sportsguard Insurance no later than 1st October 2012. Failure to do this will result in your club being placed under suspension.

This season the NRCFA is subsidising any Insurance taken out with Sportsguard by £10 per team, making the total cost to the team £90.00. This contribution is reviewed every season.

As an added benefit to clubs, the Association has, for season 2012/2013, negotiated with Sportsguard to include the previously optional “Broken Bones” extension as standard and without any additional charge. The payment of the weekly benefit has also been extended to 104 weeks (from 52 weeks) – excluding the first 14 days.

A Special policy has been negotiated with Sportsguard Insurance for Veteran teams and this will involve full payment of the agreed premium at the time of affiliation.

Personal Accident Insurance (YOUTH TEAMS)

Youth teams have the Personal Accident Insurance cover included with their affiliation fee.

**Mini Soccer Teams**

The affiliation payment for a mini-soccer team includes insurance cover for twelve. If you have more than twelve players registered to your mini soccer team, you must register an additional team with the County FA. Failure to do so will render the insurance invalid.
