EVERY LITTLE HELPS

Children playing in the Under 9s squad at Thirsk Falcons Juniors Football Club have got a smart new look with the help of the local branch of Tesco.

Around 20 children from the area train and play for the squad each week, but their old kit was beginning to wear a bit thin. The Thirsk branch of Tesco stepped in with sponsorship of £1,000 to buy a complete new kit, including training tops, for the whole squad.

Thirsk Falcons Under 9s Manager Garry Ingoldsby says "The team has made a great start to the new season with three wins out of three in competitive matches, and the new kit really helps make the squad look as good as they play. The sponsorship from Tesco meant we could buy much better kit than we'd hoped for, which will make a big difference to the children playing for us."

David Cooper, the manager of Tesco in Thirsk, adds "We're pleased to be able to support a local team and hope that the new kit brings even more success to the Falcons Under 9s this season."
