The third in a series of events for the Regional Female Mentoring Scheme ‘here come the Girls’ promises to be the biggest yet, with a session from England’s Goal Keeper Rachel Brown!
On Thursday 30th April over 50 coaches involved in the female game will attend the Regional Female Mentoring Scheme event at York College to observe three practical coaching demonstrations delivered by some of England’s top coaches.
The regional mentoring scheme is a unique partnership with each of the four County Football Associations from Yorkshire delivering a series of coach mentoring schemes for individuals involved with the female game. Aimed at increasing the knowledge and confidence amongst their active coaches, the event the programme includes workshops and sessions led by key coaches from the local, regional and national football community, including England Women’s National Coach, Hope Powell, The National Development Manager for Women’s Football, Rachel Pavlou, England Women’s Goalkeeper, Rachel Brown and many more.
Thursdays’ is the third event running throughout April and May, organised in collaboration by West Riding, North Riding, East Riding and Sheffield & Hallamshire County FAs and promises to be the biggest yet. Attendees will observe a 5-11 Age Specific Coaching Demonstration by East Rising’s FA Skills Coaches, and a goal keeping demonstration from Rachel Brown, England’s Goal Keeper. Julie Chipchase, FA Regional Coach Development Manager will also be delivering a coaching session for older players looking at how to progress a session from technique and skill based practices to a small sided game.
