Businesses attended the fantastic event with the lure of some top prizes donated to the cause. Michael Vaughan, who has invested in the Flaxby Country Club, Skelwith's latest major development and he supported the 18-hole golf match.
Michael Vaughan helped the cause by donating a signed shirt and a round of golf with himself as a couple of the prizes. Other prizes included a signed Freddie Flintoff bat, free valeting for a year and four seats in a box for the Tees-Wear derby in January.
The standout prize, however, was a brand new BMW, which would have been won by a hole-in-one on the eighth. Someone on the day for the Centre of Excellence almost bagged the beamer coming within six inches of the pin!
Centre of Excellence coach and organiser, Paul Bird said, "The weather was perfect an excellent golf course and the hospitality second to none topped of with the finest Hog roast to send us of home more than content.
I would like to pass on my thanks to all the partners who kindly gave up their time, donated prizes and purchased items at the auction. I would like to offer an open invitation to all to come and see at first hand what we are actually doing at the Centre of Excellence."
