Referees wanted

11:00 AM, Monday, 07 July 08. Referees

North Riding County FA are looking for budding referees to take part in a course to become a qualified FA referee! The course will run over one weekend after which the candidates can begin refereeing right away!

The North Riding County FA is running a Practical Refereeing Course on Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th July 2008 between 9am – 5pm, taking place at Teesside Athletic FC, Redcar. The two day course will cover the Laws of the game and application of the laws as well as taking the Refereeing exams on the Sunday afternoon. Once completing the two days, if candidates are successful they will go out into the local leagues and Referee six 11 v 11 games (Adults or Children depending on their age) and will have a Referee coach to support them through the games. Once completing the 6 games they will then attend the final part of the Basic Referee’s Training Course - a Review Evening, in which they will be presented with a FA Referee Record of Achievement, FAMOA Referee’s Badge and County Referee’s Badge. The candidate will then be fully qualified and classified as a Level 7 referee (level 8 under 16).

The associated Safeguarding Children workshop will be held at the same place on Wednesday 30th July from 6.30 - 9.30 pm.  This must be completed before you can qualify.

Anybody interested in the above course should contact Ross Joyce on ross.joyce@northridingfa.com or 01642 717778 for an enrolment form. Don’t hesitate though as it is strictly on a first come first served basis for the last course of the season!
