To meet the growing demand, the North Riding County F.A. is committed to recruit and retain more men and women referees and to support them throughout their careers.
Anyone over the age of 14 can become a referee. All that is required is a passion for the game and the successful completion of a training course.
Basic training courses (Practical or Classroom based) run regularly throughout the year and once you have passed the course and completed an FA Child Protection Workshop you can begin to officiate in matches - and you'll receive a free UMBRO referee kit!
For upcoming courses click the Courses link to the left.
Courses are also available for those who wish to gain Mini Soccer Match Day Skills and those who just want to gain more knowledge of the Laws of Association Football.
The first stage involved in becoming a referee is to contact Ross Joyce who will discuss the courses with you and send you an application form.
The second stage is to return the form and attend the course best suited to your needs.
So can you meet the challenge? Come and join us and give it a go - unless you try you'll never know!
Contact the North Riding County FA Referee Development Officer, Ross Joyce on (01642) 717778, or ross.joyce@northridingfa.com and they will guide you through the process and answer any queries you may have.
