The Teesside Junior Football Alliance has led the way with its Charter Standard League programme. Each member club was given one season's notice with regard to their club having to achieve the FA Charter Standard award before they could affiliate to the league for the 2007/08 season.
With the support of the North Riding and Durham County FA Football DevelopmentĀ team's, and funding from the Football Foundation and Northern Rock, a comprehensive support package was put in place to assist clubs. This support package included a number of FA Level 1 coaching courses. Each coach attending these courses received some free coaching equipment courtesy of Umbro the official kit sponsors of both County FA's.
In season 2007/08 the York Mitchell Mini-Soccer League, the York Mitchell Sports League and the Ryedale Junior Football League have committed to embarking on a similar programme. Clubs can dowload the support programme opposite.
The Teesborough Football League, the Wensleydale Creamery Football League and the Scarborough & District Minor League have also all stated a commitment to achieving Charter Standard League status.
