Some of the work will be undertaken without a ball and some with a ball, both with the overriding aim of developing each individual’s game. Professional coaching and advice that will be key to the development of the children, however, a new approach to coaching will also be put in place where the children are empowered to make their own decisions and solve problems. Children will be encouraged to experiment and explore their own ideas, with the understanding that making mistakes is part of the learning curve.
FA Tesco Skills Holiday courses will be delivered during the day in the school holidays. The courses are for players in the 5-11 age groups, with children being signposted to a particular group dependant upon their age. It is open to boys and girls of any ability within the local area.
In 2009 we ran courses in Northallerton and York which proved a massive success with over 350 children attending. All the children had a great time and had opportunity to improve there skills, have fun, play matches and score lots of goals all in a safe environment.
