Junior Football Organiser Course (JFO)
Young people have a huge contribution to make in leading, officiating and administrating football. The Football Association Junior Football Organisers course has been established to support the development of grass roots football initiatives for school aged children at a local level. To support this initiative the Football Association has developed a Junior Football Organiser resource pack and a tutor training course.
The FA JFO course is a training scheme designed to give young people aged 14-18 years skills in leading groups through safe football related activities. It is the first step in a young person moving onto an F.A. coach education, refereeing or administration course. The aim of the programme is to encourage participants to take responsibility for both boys and girls aged 6-11, organizing football related activities such as F.A. TOP Sport Football sessions and Mini-Soccer Festivals and games. Above all, it assists the young football leaders to grow in confidence in leading and organising football activities for small groups, and perhaps introduce some young boys and girls to football for the very first time.
JFO Tutors Course
Target Group: Key Stages 3 and 4 High School PE Teachers.
This course is for Key Stages 3 / 4 teachers and is designed to support them in giving young people of 14 to 18 years the skills to lead groups of young people aged between 6 and 11 years in safe football activities.
The course includes:
• Preparing to play football
• Football skills
• Safety and codes of conduct
• Warm-ups
• Using the resource cards
• Leading and progressing football related practices
• Refereeing
• Mini-Soccer
• Planning sessions
• Organising festivals
All candidates will receive a Certificate of Attendance and a Junior Football Organisers Tutor Pack.
