North Riding FA - developing football for everyone
Development - take your skills to the next level

Copmanthorpe Ability Counts Club

Copmanthorpe FC, an FA Charter Standard Community Club based in York, compete in the Yorkshire Ability Counts League.

The club originated through a successful FA School-Club link project that they delivered in partnership with the North Riding County FA Football Development team and the Oaklands School Sport Partnership in York. Funding from the North Riding FA allowed coaches from the club to deliver 8 weeks of football within Applefields and Hob Moor Oaks special schools.

The junior ‘soccability club’ has been a resounding success and now takes place every Friday at Oaklands Sports Centre in York for children aged up to 16.

As a result of the interest created by the junior disability club Copmanthorpe FC established an adult team and became the first FA Ability Counts Club in North Yorkshire. Copmanthorpe FC now competes in the Yorkshire Ability Counts League. The league provides competitive football for adults with a disability across the region.
