Coaching Disabled Footballers Courses

This course is aimed at coaches who are working with disabled players and will give them an awareness, tips and guidance when working with players who have a disability at coaching sessions at clubs, schools, etc.

The course also highlights the legal and moral responsibilty that coaches have to safeguard and protect disabled children and adults in football, from poor practice and abuse.

After completing the course coaches should feel more confident to

Apply and extend your existing coaching skills and experience to meet the needs of players with a range of impairements.

Establish basic communication skills for coaching disabled footballers.

Use appropriate terminology.

Identify appropriate safety and medical considerations.

Ensure that you are working in a safe and enjoyable environment and players are free from poor practice and abuse.

Plan a wide range of coaching sessions for disabled footballers.

Using the inclusion spectrum, plan your coaching sessions to include disabled players or provide alternative appropriate opportunities.

Understand the player pathways available for disabled players incuding the appropriate stuctures for competition.

The course is of a practical and theory nature and runs on one day, lasting approximately 7 hours.
