The criteria for Ability Counts Clubs is as follows:
• Offer at least two extra curriculum sessions (6 week blocks), linked into the 3 Lions FC programme.
• Offer at least two curriculum sessions (6 week blocks), one of these sessions must be aimed at girl’s participation.
• Be the exit route for the area and play in County or Regional Ability Counts competitions (this is of paramount importance).
• Play an active role in the county/regional disability group.
• Provide participation figures quarterly for use by the County FA.
North Riding Junior Ability Counts League
The North Riding Junior Ability Counts League is in its infancy and the 2008/09 will see the first season of official fixtures take place. Prior to this a number of successful club festivals have taken place. The league operates at U12 and U16 for boys with a four year age band. At present teams from Cayton Corinthians Juniors FC, Copmanthorpe FC, Middlesbrough Soccability Club and Teesside Athletic FC are involved.
North East Ability Counts League
The North East Ability Counts League was the first ever Regional Adult Football League dedicated to adults with disabilities.
The league operates Premiership, Championship and League one leagues to ensure that all abilities are catered for. Both male and female sections have been established to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to play structured and fun football. All players must be 16 years of age on September 1 of that playing season

Yorkshire Ability Counts League
Teams are 5-a-side, adult male, though there is opportunity to play other festival games for women and children as part of the main games fixture.
