Football Development Officer

Jamie Pover

Jamie joined North Riding FA in May 2008 as Rural Football Development Officer. Originally from Huddersfield, he studied Sports Development and Coaching at Northumbria University before being employed by East Durham Partnership as Football Coordinator.

Jamie has also had a background in coaching. Ranging from Huddersfield Town Football in the Community to working for Adidas and Manchester City’s Academy. He is currently League Co-ordinator for the North East Junior Ability Counts League.

Jamie is a Manchester City season ticket holder and is looking forward to seeing them get back to their glory days. Jamie also plays for Easingwold Town in the York Leeper Hare League although a persistent groin injury has kept him out for most of the 08/09 season.

As Rural Football Development Officer, Jamie’s role is a shared position between North Riding FA, Hambleton District Council and Richmondshire District Council. The major areas of his work are:

• Overview Football Development across Hambleton and Richmondshire
• Increase participation of players, coaches and volunteers in all age ranges
• Increase and develop Charter Standard Clubs
• To deliver the Rural Schools Coaching Programme and helping The FA Skills team within the two districts
• To offer diversionary activities in areas associated with Anti Social Behaviour
